Indiana Wesleyan University names Thomas Sanders as Chief Information Officer

MARION, Ind. — (July 8, 2025) Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) has appointed Thomas Sanders as its new vice president for information technology and chief information officer, effective yesterday, Monday, July 7.
“We are thrilled to welcome Thomas Sanders to Indiana Wesleyan University,” said Tod Dalberg, executive vice president and chief innovation and strategy officer. “His deep expertise, strategic mindset and passion for innovation make him the ideal leader to guide our digital transformation and enhance the technology experience for students, faculty, and staff.”
Sanders brings more than 20 years of experience in high-tech leadership, including over 15 years in C-suite roles. His background spans a range of industries such as healthcare, financial technology, defense, space, and telecommunications.
Dalberg added that Sanders’s Christian faith aligns with the university’s mission to educate and develop students as Christ-centered world changers.
Throughout his career, Sanders has led modernization efforts in enterprise technology, delivered hundreds of on-time, on-budget technology solutions and guided organizations ranging from startups to Fortune 100 companies. He is known for cultivating high-performance teams and aligning technology initiatives with institutional values.
