IWU Launches Graduate Certificate in Business Foundations
MARION, IND. (Feb. 6, 2024) – Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) is happy to announce its brand-new Graduate Certificate in Business Foundations. Launching March 2025, this certificate is designed for individuals looking to expand and enhance their ability to contribute to their career path, professional position, company, and society.
This graduate certificate consists of five courses over eight months and helps graduates develop a new direction in their current profession while also helping prepare them to potentially pursue a master’s degree. Students become equipped to apply ethical and biblical principles related to key business areas.
Speaking about this new certificate, program lead and Chair of the Division of Business Dr. Shelley Webb shared, “In today’s rapidly evolving business landscape, understanding the fundamentals of strategy, finance, and leadership is not just for business majors—it’s for anyone who wants to succeed in any field. My goal is to make these concepts accessible, practical, and relevant to students from all backgrounds, equipping them with the tools to think critically, make informed decisions, and lead with confidence.”
Despite the launch still being over a month away, prospective students are already excited, including one who shared, “As someone deeply rooted in faith and service, I’ve come to realize that effective leadership and sound decision-making are crucial in both ministry and business. This business certificate will help me gain practical skills to manage church finances, lead nonprofit initiatives, and understand the economic challenges that impact our communities. I’m excited to bring these lessons back to my work, empowering me to make a greater impact.”
