IWU Chorale to Perform at Museum of the Bible
WASHINGTON, D.C. (Dec. 16, 2024) — From Thursday, Dec. 19, through Saturday, Dec. 21, the Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) Chorale will perform live at Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., as part of the museum’s candlelight concert series, Everlasting Light: Singing the Story of Christmas.
The 40-member IWU Chorale will present traditional lessons and carols, accompanied by local musicians and an orchestra. The music is arranged by acclaimed arrangers, orchestrators, and producers Phillip Keveren and Jared Haschek in collaboration with PraiseCharts, a leader in worship music resources.
“This performance is a great opportunity for us to showcase the musical strength of our university and extend IWU’s impact,” said Davy Chinn, director of the IWU Chorale.
Museum of the Bible CEO, Dr. Carlos Campo, also shared his enthusiasm for the partnership: “We are so excited to welcome Indiana Wesleyan University as our exclusive academic industry partner. We believe an alliance with IWU will expand the museum’s reach as it is one of the largest faith-based institutions in the country.”
This concert is the latest highlight in the growing collaboration between IWU and Museum of the Bible. Earlier this fall, IWU became the exclusive academic sponsor of the museum’s World Stage Theater, which hosts more than 150 events annually, including Everlasting Light.
While Museum of the Bible is covering production costs for the performance, the IWU Chorale is fundraising to cover its travel expenses. The Chorale has already made significant progress in meeting its goal.
This upcoming concert follows the Chorale’s involvement with Museum of the Bible through its All Creation Sings project earlier this year.
