IWU to Host Appeals on Wheels on November 21

November 14, 2024 (Marion, Ind.) – On Thursday, November 21, IWU will host the Court of Appeals of Indiana for Appeals on Wheels on its Marion campus. This award-winning civics education program provides real oral arguments to venues across Indiana to help Hoosiers learn about the judiciary’s essential role in Indiana government. This program also provides opportunities for Court of Appeals judges to meet and talk with citizens across the state in relatively informal settings. This live session will be held in the Phillipe Performing Arts Center auditorium, from 11:00 a.m. to noon. Doors will open at 10:00 a.m. Seating is limited, so those looking to attend should RSVP. A twenty-minute audience Q. and A. with the attorneys and judges will also be held as part of the event.

Speaking about this exciting opportunity for IWU to take part in state government, University Counsel and Assistant Professor of Business Shawn Matter shared, “This is an exciting opportunity for Grant County and the entire IWU community to see its state government in action. IWU is honored to host the Court.”

Those looking to attend the event can RSVP by visiting indwes.edu/court-of-appeals today.
