Indiana Wesleyan University Launches AI Virtual Engagement Officer

MARION, Ind. (July 28, 2025) – Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) will be launching a new AI Virtual Engagement Officer (VEO) for select alumni and friends through a partnership with Givzey. IWU has a history of innovation – from pioneering adult education to being early adopters of online programs, IWU has always been on the cutting edge. This new VEO, called Susanna, will engage with a select grouping of IWU community members, adding an AI-powered aspect to the IWU experience.
Named after John Wesley’s mother, Susanna will soon begin reaching out and will routinely offer invitations to upcoming events, share campus news and student stories, and keep community members informed about volunteer opportunities.
“Rest assured, Susanna is not a replacement for human relationships,” said John Jones, vice president for university advancement. “Our goal with Susanna is simply to strengthen connections in a creative way with our wide network of alumni and supporters, providing a resource to learn more about the work being done at IWU and how your own passions and interests intersect. We view Susanna as a digital bridge, not a barrier, to the very human, life-changing experiences happening throughout the IWU community.”
Susanna is about connection – helping our community connect with the information and answers they need, whether day or night. Susanna keeps the conversation going. To learn more about giving, visit give.indwes.edu/contact.html or contact advancement.services@indwes.edu today.
