Educator and Museum of the Bible CEO Carlos Campo to Speak at IWU Commencement April 26

MARION, Ind. (April 24, 2025) — Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) will host Carlos Campo, Ph.D., CEO of Museum of the Bible, as the commencement speaker for its spring graduation ceremonies on Saturday, April 26.  During the ceremonies, Campo will also receive an honorary Doctor of Public Leadership degree. He is a distinguished educator, businessman, and founder whose Kingdom-oriented focus provides a meaningful context from which to share valuable insights with graduates from all walks of life.

“We are honored to welcome Carlos as our commencement speaker,” said Jon Kulaga, Ph.D., president of IWU. “His exemplary leadership and bold, consistent witness for Christ have been a blessing in higher education, at Museum of the Bible, and everywhere else Carlos serves. We’re privileged to have someone with such humility and wisdom share in the celebration of our graduating class.”

Campo is widely recognized for his role as CEO of Museum of the Bible in Washington, DC, a position he assumed in June 2024. His leadership at Museum of the Bible also reflects IWU’s growing partnership with the institution, which supports joint educational and faith-based initiatives in Washington, D.C. Campo has also served as president of Ashland University, president of Regent University, vice chair of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, and founder of the Alliance for Hispanic Education’s annual summits.

He has received honorary degrees from the University of Vienna and Taylor University. In 2016, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas College of Liberal Arts named him Alumnus of the Year.

In 2023, Campo was named one of Crain’s Cleveland “45 Notable Latino Leaders” and has received the recognitions Educator of the Year and Outstanding Educator from both local and national organizations. He and his wife, Karen, have three children and three grandchildren.

IWU invites graduates, students, faculty, and families to attend this special occasion. Campo will speak at all three spring commencement ceremonies, held April 26 at 10 a.m., 2:30 p.m., and 6 p.m. Eastern time.
