Brian R. Jaworski Named Vice President of Student Development and Athletics at Indiana Wesleyan University

MARION, Ind. (Aug. 12, 2025) — Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) has appointed Brian R. Jaworski as vice president of student development and athletics. With more than two decades of higher education leadership, Jaworski brings extensive experience in student life, residence life, and athletics administration.
Jaworski currently serves as vice president for student life and dean of students at Corban University in Salem, Ore., where he leads the student life and athletics departments, overseeing 15 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) teams and more than 330 student-athletes. He has also held leadership roles at Huntington University, Moody Bible Institute-Spokane, Kansas State University, and Trinity International University.
In his new role at IWU, Jaworski will provide vision and leadership for the university’s student development and athletics teams, which include athletics, residential learning, student engagement, life calling and career, the Center for Student Success, and the Wildcat Health Clinic. He will also serve on the President’s Cabinet and lead a collaborative team of professionals and paraprofessionals dedicated to enhancing IWU’s Christ-centered student experience.
“We are thrilled to find someone with Brian’s educational and administrative experience, who is also such a great mission fit,” said Jon Kulaga, president of IWU. “Brian brings a student-focused and Christ-centered approach to our student development team with experience overseeing a previous NAIA athletic department. I am confident he will be able to hit the ground running and immediately impact our residential campus community and experience.”
Throughout his career, Jaworski has overseen a wide range of student development areas including residence life, student activities, chapel, service and outreach, commuter life, campus safety, student government, diversity and leadership programs, and Title IX compliance. He has also served as a faculty member, teaching courses in theology, biblical studies, ministry, leadership, and Christian faith formation.
“I am thrilled to serve as the next vice president of student development and athletics at IWU,” Jaworski said. “Whether it’s in a classroom, a residence hall, or on an athletic field, IWU’s known commitment to a Christ-centered student experience is what drove me to apply, and it will be with that same commitment that the work of student development will continue. My family and I are grateful to serve the entirety of the Wildcat community and look forward to our future here, working to develop students in character, scholarship, and leadership.”
Jaworski holds a doctorate in higher education and a doctoral-level certificate in strengths-oriented higher education from Azusa Pacific University, a master of divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and a bachelor’s degree in pastoral studies from Moody Bible Institute.
He will assume his new role at IWU August 18, 2025.
