IWU Baseball Field to Be Named in Honor of Crandall Family

October 18, 2024 (Marion, Ind.) – This Saturday, October 19, Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) will host a special ceremony to officially name the Wildcats’ baseball field. The Crandall family will be recognized for their years of dedicated support to the university. The field will be renamed Crandall Family Field to acknowledge their contributions.

“The Crandall family has had a long history of faithful service to IWU, both as faculty members and through their generous support of athletics and academic scholarships,” said IWU President Dr. Jon Kulaga. “It is an honor to see the Crandall family name celebrated today with the naming of our baseball field.”

“The Crandall family have been incredible partners for our baseball program for many years,” shared Deane Webb, director of athletics at IWU. “Thanks to their generosity, we’ve made significant upgrades to the field. In particular, the installation of a turf infield has allowed our team to practice more during bad weather and has enabled us to host games that would have otherwise been canceled. We are deeply thankful to families like the Crandalls who support our mission of striving for athletic excellence while influencing others for Christ.”

Head Baseball Coach Ian Macdonald shared similar sentiments: "On behalf of IWU Baseball, we are truly grateful to Caleb and his family for their continued support of our program and the university."

Vice President for University Advancement John Jones added: “The Crandall family’s prayers, encouragement, and generosity have made a lasting impact on IWU. We are honored to name the field in recognition of their partnership, which helps IWU fulfill its mission of changing the world for Christ through our student-athletes. This is a Kingdom impact that we celebrate together.”

The Crandall Family Field naming ceremony will take place this Saturday, October 19, at 11:00 a.m. at the baseball field.
